Suresh Chabria

(English: Non-fiction) Suresh taught Political Science at St. Xavier’s College, Mumbai, before joining the Film and Television Institute of India, Pune, as Professor of Film Appreciation. He was Director of the National Film Archive of India, during which period he initiated several restorations and programming events showcasing Indian film heritage in India and abroad. He has published several articles on cinema and his book, Light of Asia: Indian Silent Cinema 1912-1934 is considered the most authoritative publication on the subject. His other interests are miniature painting, photography and far eastern poetry.

Jayant Kaikini

He is also an award-winning lyricist, script and dialogue writer for Kannada films. He is the recipient of the DSC prize for the Best South Asian Literature in 2019 for his book No Presents Please – Mumbai Stories.

Akhil Katyal

(English: Poetry & Translation) Akhil is a writer based in Delhi. He is the author of Like Blood on the Bitten Tongue: Delhi Poems (Westland-Context) and How Many Countries Does the Indus Cross (TGIPC). He has co-edited The World that Belongs to Us: An Anthology of Queer Poetry from South Asia (HarperCollins India) and has translated Ravish Kumar’s Ishq Mein Shahar Hona as A City Happens in Love (Speaking Tiger). He was the University of Iowa International Writing Fellow in Fall 2016. He teaches creative writing at Ambedkar University Delhi.

Tashan Mehta

(English: Fiction)Tashan’s debut novel, The Liar’s Weave, was published in 2017 and shortlisted for the Prabha Khaitan Woman’s Voice Award. In 2019, she participated in FIELDWORK 0.2, a multidisciplinary residency that explored alternative infrastructures for the future; she imagined and created an artefact, On Unknown Things, based on this experience. Her short stories have been anthologised in Magical Women, Third Eye, and the Gollancz Anthology of South Asian Speculative Fiction: Volume II.
Suhasini Patni

(English: Fiction & Non-fiction) Suhasini is a freelance writer based in Jaipur and Delhi. She has worked as a teaching fellow in Ashoka University and as visiting faculty in Nirma University. Her writing was short-listed for the Toto Funds the Arts, Creative Writing in English Award 2021. Her work has appeared in Asymptote, Scroll.in, Cha: Asian Literary Journal, and elsewhere.

(Bangla, English: Non-fiction & Translation) Rama has translated Subimal Misra’s The Golden Gandhi Statue from America: Early Stories, Wild Animals Prohibited: Stories, Anti-stories, and This Could Have Become Ramayan Chamar’s Tale: Two Anti-Novels. His translation of The Runaway Boy, the first novel in the Chandal Jibon Trilogy by Manoranjan Byapari, was published in 2020.
Sita Reddy

(English: Fiction & Non-fiction) Sita is a writer and curator based in Hyderabad. With a PhD in sociology and a MA in museum studies from the University of Pennsylvania, she has written on a range of topics at the intersections of art, science, and museums — from the visual histories of yoga to the decolonization of Company art archives. Her most recent publication, The Weight of a Petal: Ars Botanica (2019), MARG magazine’s first special issue on botanical art, grew out of her research on the Indian medico-botanical archive.
Priya Sarukkai
